Building Family Wealth, One Decision at a Time

Back in 2019, we started helping families in Newfoundland understand their money. Not because we had all the answers, but because we knew how confusing investing can feel when you're trying to protect what matters most.

Six years later, we're still doing exactly that. Just with a few more gray hairs and a lot more stories about what actually works for Canadian families.

Why We Focus on Families

The idea came from watching too many parents stress about money at kitchen tables. RESPs they didn't understand. TFSAs they weren't sure how to use. Investment accounts that seemed like they were built for someone else.

We figured there had to be a better way to explain this stuff. Without the jargon. Without making people feel like they should've figured it out ten years ago.

So we built a practice around teaching. Real education sessions where you can ask the questions you've been too embarrassed to Google. Where we talk about your actual situation, not some textbook scenario.

Education First

We spend more time teaching than selling because informed families make better choices. Our workshops cover everything from basic budgeting to tax-efficient investing, and yes, we actually explain what those terms mean.

Local Context

Canadian tax rules are their own beast. We focus on strategies that work within our system, from splitting income legally to maximizing your children's education grants.

Long-Term Relationships

Most of our clients have been with us for years. That's not by accident. We're interested in being part of your financial story for the long haul, adjusting as life changes.

What Guides Our Work

These aren't just nice words on a website. They're the principles we actually use when working with families.

Plain Language

If you need a finance degree to understand our advice, we've failed. We explain concepts using examples from everyday life, and we're not afraid to say "I don't know" when something's outside our expertise.

Realistic Goals

We're not promising you'll retire at 40 or turn $5,000 into $500,000. We help you figure out what's actually achievable based on your income, timeline, and comfort with risk.

No Pressure

Take your time making decisions. Sleep on it. Talk to your spouse. Get a second opinion if you want. We'd rather you feel confident than rush into something because we had a sales quota.

The People Behind the Advice

Small team, lots of experience. We keep things personal because that's how we'd want to be treated if the roles were reversed.

Came to financial planning from teaching, which explains why she's obsessed with making complex topics understandable. Works primarily with families planning for education costs and helps them build portfolios that match their actual risk tolerance, not what some algorithm says it should be.
